Recently I’ve been commissioned to do two pieces of work which speak of that often forgotten thing (on the internet at least): wholesome love.
The first is an illustration of a love tree; a clients personal dream.
The second is the cover of a wedding invite.
Now doesn’t that make you feel better.
Hi Trevor, not smut – a rare thing these days! First one reminds me of those papercuts by Rob Ryan:

The roses are great – we’ve seen the red loveheart take over on valentines, so these traditional depictions are incredibly nostalgic!
Nice one!
Thank you, thank you. Rob Ryan was one inspiration, I was a bit more inspired by shadow puppets (flat sections which you can arrange) and silhoette art (I saw a lovely exhibition once of a man who made his living doing scissor portraits; I’m pretty certain it was John Miers).
The roses came from me not wanting to rip off an old wallpaper. They look a bit aggressive to me!
I really love the first one, thanks š
