Winston Churchill sketches

I’ve been talking about doing a portrait painting of Winnie for a friend, so decided to do some sketches to work out some thoughts. I’ve purposely tried to draw him without resorting to photos as he is just as much about the myth now as the reality, I can paint the real features in afterwards. The sketches go chronologically from left to right, top to bottom.

    Peter Lorre! How fun, he’s one of the only people I like doing an impression of – “You’re breaking my armmm”.
    We shall see, as long as it wasn’t a big angry baby I’m happy.
