Old Sketchbook week: No.18! The last sketchbook, highlights from 1989…

This was about copying and whether it is worth doing.
Is it giving more or something good that the original wasn’t?

An interesting Macbeth illustration. I was dead into Alfred Jarry and Ubu at the time.

Picasso, Bowie, Rayogram, my parents dog, church railings, school friends Chris, Steve and Kev, plus me in yellow.

Jean Cocteau’s front room.

From some ideas on an exhibiton about Croydon. The work I exhibited was a broken oval frame with black card inside and a contact sheet image of a broken window in the middle. It was well thought out but distinctly underwhelming in the flesh.

Still one of my favorite images, loads of fun information, plus nice moustaches!

Thanks for looking.

Normal service is to be resumed…
