Last time Matthew was posing, I found my painting to be too strong, trying to match his physique. This week the brushstrokes and marks were made with a delicate care. This seemed to be a better route into making better artworks.
Here’s the last pose of the night. 1 hour 20 minutes. A pre painted background. This painting will be worked up into something more. Already the shoe has gone and the background is lighter.
The first work of the night that took 20 minutes. The colours were purposefully bright.
Blue paper gives the image a zing. 10 minutes.

After the session while watching tv I made these little remembered sketches.
