For the last session of 2015 we were presented with a special treat.
David and Colin really enjoy their job, having a daring, strenuous attitude to the task at hand. You couldn’t and wouldn’t ask for more. There’s so much happening visually you just try and capture what you can.
The first poses of the night went straight into the drama of two men interacting with sticks in a way that lends itself to titles like ‘The Duelists’. Two 15 minute poses in acrylic and pencil.
This pose was reminiscent of a study for Théodore Géricault’s ‘Raft of the Medusa’.
Hence the bold, sea spray like handling of the paint. 3o minutes of frenetic acrylic, conté pastel and pencil work.
This work happened with David dynamically seated while Colin moved around him stopping in 4 set poses. 5o minutes with pencil and acrylic right at the end. This is being worked on. The title for the artwork at the moment is ‘Othello’.
Mr Skellington in my scarf and jacket in the 20 minutes before the class starts. Conté pastel and acrylics. Is it me or is he saying “Well look at her”.
