Life painting. One Sunday afternoon.

Sunday afternoon. 3 hours of oil painting on canvas.
The skull wasn’t that near the model in the studio. The colours seemed to work well, though I found oil painting problematic, with it’s longer drying time and buttery texture. The close up work needs to be better, rather than just drawing on the wet paint. I’d made compositional sketches but in hindsight, chose the wrong one.

Earlier studies made on canvas with oil paint and chalks.
