Charmouth sketches.

These are all in a beautiful and practical new landscape sketchbook, made by our good friend, Sarah A.

Beside the seaside. Graphite stick and pencil.
The sound of hammers on rocks as fossil hunters seek a coelacanth. The idea was to make it as 3D as possible just in line.

A view from the hill. Coloured pencils.
With a limited palette (no greens) I had in my mind Van Gogh’s use of different lines for different subjects. Also trying to get the feeling of a light breeze.

Landscape on blue. This view was to the left of the one above. Nice and simple.
